To shine a light on visionary critic and architect Michael Sorkin’s most ambitious project, remaking Manhattan as a self-sustaining metropolis, I wanted to explore the line between this utopia, our current reality, and what it would take to build a bridge between the two. It turns out the key is the near elimination of cars, an increase in public transportation, and the creation of mini-farms on each block. With the success of congestion pricing, what once felt impossible is starting to feel unstoppable.
